if you find a stray or dumped animal you must contact your county shelter. Most counties require that found animals be held for a certain amount of time before they are able to be legally adopted in case an owner comes forward. Not every county is set up for small animals, and they may reach out to us or another shelter for help. Multnomah County is definitely set up for small animal intakes. If the county shelter is unable to help and you will need to foster for some time before surrendering, contact us.
